Introducing the New Focus Areas What is a Focus Area? Linked to the Common Agenda for Change and the National Suicide Prevention Strategy and Outcomes Framework, each Focus Area is a discrete and targeted area of intentional effort on a specific topic, cohort, or location. Evolving from collaborative work, key focus areas include: First Nations Collaborative The centring of Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing of healing and community. Domestic and Family Violence The intersection of two social movements for change through discovery and advocacy. Gambling Harm Supporting communities' understanding of the intersection of gambling and life promotion. Youth Voice Where youth stories of experience hold influence for change. Cape York Focus Forum The sharing and translation of life promotion knowledge unique to Cape York. Referral Reform Re-imaging ways of working collaboratively that promote an individual's agency that may resolve service system pain points. Continuous Communications Intentional engagements that are foundational for community development. Community Development Exploring life promotion and suicide prevention by invitation in select communities across Cape York. LGBTIQA+ Supporting communities' conceptualisation of suicide prevention and life promotion.
