Ambika Gautam
Ambika has been part of Centacare FNQ for eight years, working primarily with Centacare Multicultural Services. In this role, she has been privileged to make a tangible difference in the lives of newcomers and diverse communities.
Her work focuses on creating welcoming spaces and delivering effective programs that promote integration, wellbeing, and social cohesion. Ambika brings both professional expertise and cultural understanding to her role, helping ensure programs are accessible, meaningful, and responsive to community needs.
Ambika believes that effective communication is essential to meaningful engagement. This includes active listening, empathy, cultural sensitivity, clear and non-judgmental dialogue, asking open-ended questions, fostering collaboration, and following up to build trust.
Through her work, Ambika demonstrates that genuine relationships and thoughtful conversations are at the heart of supporting diverse communities and helping people feel seen, heard, and included.
