Colin Baira

Colin works as an Aftercare Worker as part of the Culture Care Connect program at Apunipima. In his role, he has many helpful conversations across the community and with colleagues.

He has significant experience working directly with people in vulnerable positions, whether they are experiencing challenges with physical health, mental health, or social distress.

Colin believes the foundation of trust lies in listening carefully, avoiding “over-running” conversations, and respecting each person’s story.

He says that conversations that build common ground and allow people to be truly heard are essential to meaningful connection and lasting support.
