Schania Czygan

Schania is a proud Kuku Yalanji / Butchulla woman from the Daintree. She has extensive experience in Aboriginal health service delivery, particularly in Social and Emotional Wellbeing programs and suicide prevention.

Her work is driven by a passion for destigmatising suicide and opening space for honest and supportive conversations. She brings both cultural knowledge and professional expertise to this work, advocating for safe, accessible services that reflect community needs.

At the heart of her approach is a belief in deep listening. Schania says it means making sure people have the time and safety to voice their own stories, without interruption or judgement.

    • How does Schania invite the people she is talking with, guide the conversation?

    • How does Schania use a strengths approach in her conversations?

    • What do you think is most important for Schania?
